What is LAFTA?
Founded in 1995, Louisville Area Fiber and Textile Artists (LAFTA) is an anization of visual artists whose work encompasses a variety of surface design and construction techniques, focusing on fibers, textiles and beads.
Our mission is to provide support to our members and to increase community awareness of fiber and textile art.
In Memoriam: Lida G. Gordon
LAFTA mourns the loss of our long-time friend, mentor,? teacher, and artist, Lida Gordon, who passed away July 17, 2021. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at the Water Tower at Zorn and River Road on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 2-5 pm. Memorial gifts received in Lida Gordon’s honor will be used to enhance the central mission of LAFTA by promoting increased awareness of the fiber arts in the Louisville community through education and exhibitions.
